BASF Appoints New VP of Automotive Refinish

Dec. 7, 2012—BASF on Thursday named Paul Whittleston as vice president of Automotive Refinish Coatings in North America.

Whittleston will begin the new role Jan. 1. He will be based out of Southfield, Mich.   

Prior to this appointment, Whittleston most recently served as BASF’s staff to the president of market and business development in North America. He also served as business development manager for BASF’s Fuels & Refinery Chemicals in North America.

“Whittleston brings a wealth of experience to the position, including key roles in laboratory, commercial, business leadership and global marketing positions,” said Juan Carlos Ordonez, senior vice president of BASF’s Coatings Solutions North America. “We look forward to leveraging this expertise in the area of automotive refinish coatings.”

BASF said Whittleston holds an MBA from the University of Bradford in Yorkshire, United Kingdom; a Master of Science degree in environmental analytical science from Sheffield Hallam University in Yorkshire, United Kingdom; and a Bachelor of Science in chemistry and analytical chemistry from the University of Huddersfield in West Yorkshire, United Kingdom.
