AASP-MN to Host Three Fall Seminars

Aug. 12, 2013—The Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of Minnesota (AASP-MN) will host three fall seminars in the Minneapolis area.

The first, “Wheel Alignment Diagnostic Angles & Resetting Electronic Stability Control Systems,” will take place Sept. 10, from 4–8 p.m., at Dunwoody College of Technology in Minneapolis. 

The seminar, presented by Roger Creason, Hunter Engineering, will cover wheel alignment diagnostic angles, including steering axis inclination, included angle, turning angle and setback and thrust angle. Also covered are techniques used to detect damaged suspension components not commonly found during normal alignment procedures.

“Eight Steps to a More Profitable Auto Repair Shop” will take place Sept. 18, from 4–8 p.m. at the Hyatt Place Minneapolis/Airport-South, Bloomington, Minn.

The seminar, presented by Bob Cooper and Doris Barnes of Elite Worldwide, will teach attendees how to build a more profitable shop in the most ethical way.  Attendees will learn how to set goals, find and hire high-quality employees, put together a marketing plan, improve customer service and more.

The last seminar, is a set of two workshops reviewing the requirements and criteria of the recent health care reform that begins Jan. 1.

The workshops are schedules for Sept. 25 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 6–8 p.m.

Topics covered will include the definition of small vs. large business, tax credits, MNSure (Minnesota’s health care exchange) and the pros and cons of the options available to small business employers.

The workshops will be presented by Dennis Begley, employee benefits manager at CBIZ AIA, and Aaron Hall, CEO and business attorney at Thompson Hall Santi Cerny & Dooley.
