March 10, 2011 — LKQ Corp. recently donated $9,000 in products to nine schools through the Collision Repair Education Foundation.
All of the chosen schools applied for the foundation’s 2010 Ultimate Collision Education Makeover grant and each was able to select $1,000 in auto parts for their collision program.
The selected schools were:
Area 30 Career Center, Greencastle, Ind.
Chantilly High School Academy, Chantilly, Va.
Irmo High School, Columbia, S.C.
Lake Technical Center, Eustis, Fla.
Metropolitan Community College, Omaha, Neb.
Montachusett Regional Vo Tech, Fitchburg, Mass.
Potter Career and Technical Center, West Seneca, N.Y.
Warren Tech, Lakewood, Colo.
West Sound Technical Skills Center, Bremerton, Wash.
LKQ also donated $6,000 to support the foundation’s Collision Repair Education Campaign fund and is participating as a sponsor of the foundation’s 2011 golf fundraiser in Salt Lake City.
“The Collision Repair Education Foundation is a valuable organization and we are pleased to support future industry technicians,” said Terry Fortner, vice president of industry relations and market development. “With all the advances in materials, technology and procedures, it is important that schools have access to the latest techniques and products to teach how to safely repair vehicles.
