ABRA opens five new repair centers

Feb. 1, 2011

Feb. 1, 2011 — ABRA Auto Body & Glass has opened three new corporate-owned collision centers and two franchise locations.

The corporate centers are in Tucker, Ga., and Waukesha and Glendale, Wis.

“Part of our strategic goal is to add repair centers in our existing markets to better serve our customers and insurance partners,” said Tim Adelmann, ABRA’s executive vice president of business development. “All three of these facilities are located in areas where a need was determined for an ABRA location.”

The franchise centers are in Clinton, Iowa, and Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. The Clinton shop was formerly McEleney Collision. Owner John McEleney, who also owns Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Toyota franchises in the city, is still running the shop. Allen Taylor opened the Wisconsin franchise. He previously operated under the name Rapids Ford Body Shop and also owns Rapids Ford-Lincoln-Mercury.

Adelmann said ABRA is in an “aggressive growth mode.” The company, founded in 1984, runs 106 repair centers in 12 states.
