Nov. 15, 2010—The Collision Repair Education Foundation has provided 2,000 Cintas technician uniforms to repair students nationwide, according to a Collision Repair Education Foundation press release.

With the support of Audatex, AutoZone, Chicago Pneumatic, Craftsman, I-CAR and PPG Automotive Refinishes, the foundation donated hundreds of shirts to repair students who attended the 2010 NACE and SEMA events. About 1,000 shirts will be given to schools that applied for the 2010 Ultimate Makeover Grant, 175 shirts will be donated at the 2011 SkillsUSA competition, and the remaining shirts will go to schools applying for grants throughout 2011. Cintas also donated the cost of shipping the shirts to various collision schools.

The foundation also raised $20,000 from the partners supporting the technician shirt project, which will be used for the foundation’s Collision Repair Education Campaign Fund for grants and scholarships.

“I cannot begin to describe how excited my collision students were when they first put on their new uniforms,” said Kurt Chrysler, collision instructor for Tuscola Technology Center in Caro, Mich. “They insisted that I take them up to the school store, located in the front of the school, in hopes that students from the other classes would see them. They had huge grins on their faces and an extra spring in their step. I heard several students make comments about how professional they looked. These new uniforms have truly been a blessing to our program.”
