SEMA Show 2010: NABC elects new officers

Nov. 2, 2010, LAS VEGAS—The National Auto Body Council on Tuesday elected a new slate of officers.

Stacy Bartnik, CARSTAR’s assistant vice president and director of field services, was elected president of the NABC, replacing George Avery of State Farm Insurance. Bartnik will take over as president on Jan. 1.

“I’m honored to have been nominated and elected to this position,” Bartnik said. “I’ve been involved with NABC for many years. I’m truly passionate about NABC and our mission. We’ll continue to grow our initiatives including Recycled Rides, FREE [First Responders Emergency Extrication program], any other initiatives that will help improve the image of our industry.”

Brandon Devis, Sherwin-Williams’ division manager for sales force effectiveness, was elected vice president. Liz Stein, network director for Fix Auto USA, was elected secretary. Fred Iantorno, executive director for the Collision Industry Electronic Commerce Association, is the council’s new treasurer. Dave Merrell, vice president of strategic initiatives for CSi Complete, was elected director-at-large.

NABC’s major initiatives include Recycled Rides and FREE. The council also approved a measure Tuesday to support Spanish-language initiatives in the collision repair industry.
