April 20, 2012—Maaco Auto Body and Paint in Fremont, Calif., is donating a complete car paint voucher to Washington High School in Fremont to be raffled during the school’s ninth annual car show.
Maaco said its donation is meant to help raise money, tools and equipment that are needed for Washington High School’s auto shop department. The school’s students and automotive technology instructor Doug Natale organize the car show event, which is scheduled for May 12 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Frank Barnard of Maaco Auto Body and Paint said Washington High School’s car show draws several vehicle owners throughout the San Francisco Bay area who display their classic cars, hot rods, motorcycles and trucks.
"The first year we sponsored Washington High's car show we thought it was a nice thing to do for the kids and the community,” Barnard said. “I didn't expect it to be big or very interesting, but I had the best time. The kids and Doug Natale do an incredible job organizing the event, and the cars that get displayed are fantastic. You can expect a bit of everything, from old classics to wildly modified hot rods to modern cars with outrageous engines and sound systems.”
Maaco said participants at the car show have opportunities to win various prizes, including gift baskets, raffle items and certificates.
