April 9, 2012—The Society of Collision Repair Specialists’ (SCRS) next open board meeting will include a special presentation from members of its education committee regarding the latest advancements in automotive repair, the organization recently announced.
The presentation, which will be lead by SCRS members Toby Chess and Paul Val, will discuss how repair methodology is driven by changes in both vehicle design and governmental regulations. The presentation will cover topics such as aluminum welding and brazing, electronic stability control, airbags, metallurgy and electronic measuring.
The SCRS said the presentation will also provide insight on the type of repair work produced by repair facilities that have not kept pace with technology advances, and the jeopardy that consumers can experience if proper repair procedures are not recognized by repairers.
The SCRS’ open board meeting will also include a presentation from members of the Oklahoma Insurance Department. The meeting, which is open to all industry professionals, is scheduled for April 24 at the Renaissance Hotel in Oklahoma City, Okla.
The SCRS is comprised of 6,000 collision repair businesses and 58,500 specialized professionals through its direct members and 39 affiliate associations. For more information, or to view a complete schedule for the organization’s next open board meeting, visit scrs.com.
