ARA selects Ricky Young as executive secretary

Aug. 26, 2011—The Automotive Recyclers Association (ARA) on Friday announced Ricky Young will serve as the organization’s executive secretary for the 2011-2012 term.

ARA's board of directors will formally confirm Young into the position during their annual meeting Oct. 11-15, held in conjunction with ARA's Convention and Exposition in Charlotte, N.C.

Young, owner of Young’s Auto Center & Salvage in Benson, N.C., is currently president of the Carolina Auto Recyclers (CAR), chairman of CAR’s Legislative Committee and a member of the ARA Government Affairs Committee.

In addition, Young is a past house president of the Benson Area Chamber of Commerce, a recipient of the Benson “Citizen of The Year” Award, and a board of directors member for several community and business organizations.

“ARA looks forward to the quality of leadership that Ricky Young brings to the table,” said Bill Tolpa, chairman of ARA’s Nominating Committee. “His industry involvement is an example of excellence to ARA members and his reach into the local community represents his commitment to growing both his business and those personal connections that provide the foundation for growth through partnerships.
