September 13, 2010— The Automotive Management Institute (AMI) along with the Automotive Service Association (ASA), Automotive Video Inc. (AVI) and Babcox Publications announced the following 2010 scholarship winners recognized for their continual service and desire to improve their skills through education:
• Jina Berg is a customer service representative for Lehman’s Garage Inc. in Minneapolis and winner of the 2010 BodyShop Business Magazine Scholarship. She has worked in the collision repair industry for 10 years, is a member of Women’s Industry Network (WIN) and is working toward earning the Institute’s Accredited Automotive Manager (AAM) designation.
• April Hernandez is the manager for Hernandez Collision Center in Savannah, Ga., and winner of the 2010 Emil Stanley Merit Award. Hernandez has worked in the collision repair industry for more than five years and serves on the ASA Crash Parts Sub-Committee, ASA Safety Parts Task Force and the ASA Government Affairs Committee.
• Dan Wozniak is the owner of Dan’s Auto/Truck Repair in Arlington, Texas, and winner of the AVI Education Scholarship. He has worked in the collision repair industry for more than 30 years and has owned a shop for the last 20 years. He has several Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications and has earned the Institute’s Accredited Automotive Manager (AAM) designation in 2005.
• Jeff McCloud is a technician at Express Auto/RV Care Center in Yuma, Ariz., and winner of the Tom B. Babcox Memorial Scholarship. McCloud has worked in the collision repair industry for 14 years and is an ASE certified and master technician and advanced engine performance specialist. He is also working toward earning the Institute’s Accredited Automotive Manager (AAM) designation.
• Dan Rohler is the manager of Nagy’s Wadsworth Collision in Wadsworth, Ohio, and winner of this year’s Richard Cossette/Gale Westerlund Memorial Scholarship. Rohler has worked in the collision industry for more than 32 years and is working toward earning the Institute’s Accredited Automotive Manager (AAM) designation. He is I-CAR trained and also has several ASE certifications.
Each winner will be awarded $1,000 to apply toward educational sessions and to view the latest repair technologies and equipment during NACE in October, according to AMI.
