Nov. 6, 2013—SEMA on Tuesday presented awards for the hottest vehicles of 2013.
The annual awards honor the industry's top-trending vehicles in four model categories. Winners are determined based on which vehicles specialty-equipment manufacturers believe are the best platforms for accessorizing and that showcase this year’s coolest products.
The awards categories and winners are as follows:
- The Ford Mustang was named the Hottest Car.
- The Scion FR-S won the Hottest Sport Compact Car honor.
- The Ford F-Series was named the Hottest Truck.
- The Jeep Wrangler won the Hottest 4x4-SUV award.
"The SEMA Show has always been the annual event where the newest and most innovative products are seen first," said Chris J. Kersting, president and CEO of SEMA. "The SEMA Award celebrates the industry's unique ability to identify and set the trends that influence consumers worldwide."
Organizers of the 2013 SEMA Show said the event features more than 2,400 exhibiting companies that manufacture thousands of products designed to improve performance, safety and convenience, as well as those that enhance appearance and comfort. Products are available for every vehicle make and model, but SEMA organizers said exhibitors are investing more in the Ford Mustang, Scion FR-S, Ford F-Series, and Jeep Wrangler compared to any other vehicle.
