October 7, 2010—The Automotive Management Institute (AMI) and Automotive Video Inc. (AVI) announced on Thursday that Gary Keyes of E&M Motors Inc. in Stuart, Fla., and Rosario Lucas of Express Tire & Auto Repair in Azusa, Calif., are the recipients of the “AVI Education Scholarship.”
The scholarship goes to repair professionals who have a desire to improve their management and technical skills, according to an AMI press release_notes. Keyes and Lucas each received $1,000 to be applied toward expenses for the AVI Training Conference in Las Vegas, Nov. 4-5.
Keyes has worked in the industry for more than 38 years and has been a shop owner for the last 27 years. He is an ASE Certified Master Technician and earned the Institute’s Accredited Automotive Manager (AAM) designation in 2004.
Lucas has worked in the industry as a shop owner for the last 10 years. She is currently working on completing the necessary requirements to earn the Institute’s Accredited Automotive Manager (AAM) designation.
