AkzoNobel announces sponsorship at “The Allure of the Automobile”

Jan. 18, 2010--AkzoNobel Car Refinishes North America announced it will be the automotive paint sponsor at “The Allure of the Automobile,” an exhibition that focuses on the stylistic development of automobiles.

The exhibition will be held at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, March 18-June 20.

Designs of 18 vehicles will be presented. Models by Bugatti, Duesenberg, Jaguar, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche and Ferrari will be featured. The exhibition will correlate the vehicle designs with major design period movements, according to AkzoNobel.

“Each of the cars that will be exhibited is one-of-a-kind custom built design. These vehicles document a history of extraordinary advances in automotive styling and engineering,” said Tim Loden, AzkoNobel director of marketing. “This exhibit is a story that reflects a passion for perfection, a passion that AzkoNobel shares.”

Other sponsors at the exhibition include Porsche Cars North America Inc., Auto Trader Classics Inc., Manheim and NAPA. Ken Gross, writer, automotive historian and former executive director of the Peterson Automotive Museum, will be the guest curator of the exhibition.
