ASRW to Feature ASA Leadership Forum, MSO Symposium

June 5, 2013

June 5, 2013—Organizers of Automotive Service & Repair Week (ASRW) on Wednesday announced that this year’s event will feature two industry meetings, including the Automotive Service Association (ASA) Affiliate Executive Director Leadership Forum and the third annual MSO Symposium.

The ASA Affiliate Executive Director Leadership Forum is designed for the ASA's affiliate executive directors, liaisons, board members and the ASA board of directors. The meeting provides an opportunity for ASA affiliate members to share best practices, concerns, and strategic plans for the coming year.

A new affiliate executive director will also be elected during the meeting, which will take place Oct. 16 at 8:30 a.m.

“As affiliate leaders, it is our job to create the vision for our affiliates. We will work together to help focus on setting goals and strategizing steps for success for the health of the automotive service industry, our association and our affiliates, but most importantly, our members,” said Ray Fisher, president of ASA-Michigan.

In addition, the third annual MSO Symposium will also take place Oct. 16. The symposium’s exact program content and schedule have not yet been release_notesd.

“The MSO Symposium has quickly become a very important event for the collision repair industry. Holding it in conjunction with NACE, where everyone attending is part of and committed to our industry, makes it convenient, valuable and efficient for shop owners, and we’re looking forward to attending again this year,” said Tim O’Day, president and chief operations officer of Gerber Collision & Glass.

ASRW 2013 will take place Oct. 17-18 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas. Educational sessions will begin Oct. 16.

“We’ve been inundated with interest from industry groups, new and returning, requesting to be a part of ASRW this year, and these functions represent just the first of many that will be taking place in conjunction with ASRW. We’ll be announcing others in the coming weeks," said Dan Risley, interim executive director of the ASA.
