Dec. 22, 2011—Caliber Collision Centers’ Riverside, Calif., location is donating a refurbished 2006 Honda CRV to a single mother whose young son has acute lymphocytic leukemia.
Vanessa Daum is a single parent to four sons and faces a challenge of riding a bus with her son, Kaysin, so he can get weekly chemotherapy and doctor check-ups.
“We believe that the Daum family deserves a little holiday cheer this season, not only for Vanessa and Kaysin, but also for the three other boys in the family who need reliable transportation to and from school and other activities,” said David Goldstein, vice president of operations.
In partnership with the Walters Automotive Group and Caliber Collision Centers associates and vendor partners, the vehicle will be donated on Friday, Dec. 23, at noon in Riverside, Calif.
The gift is part of a new program for Caliber, which plans to donate more recycled vehicles in the next year across California, Arizona, Nevada and Texas.
“We are honored to be a part of this touch of holiday cheer in concert with Caliber Collision Centers to help out a needy family like the Daums who deserve a break in today’s difficult economy where so many people simply can’t afford reliable transportation,” said Cathy Kienle, foundation director of Walters Automotive Group.
