PPG announces SEMA booth events

Oct. 12, 2011—PPG Automotive Refinish on Wednesday announced it will feature celebrity appearances, show cars and motorcycles, custom-painted auto hoods and new paint products at the company’s exhibitor booth during the 2011 SEMA Show.

PPG said its booth, 24501, will be designed as a retro body shop—Johnny O’s Collision & Customs. Show attendees will be able to meet custom car world celebrities, including Charley Hutton, Bobby Alloway, and Tom and Mitch Kelly. The celebrities will make hour-long appearances in PPG’s booth each day of the show.

Hutton will also lead two seminars on painting techniques with waterborne products, according to PPG. The seminars will be held at 2:30 p.m. PST Nov. 1 and Nov. 2.

Three PPG-painted street rods will be exhibited at its booth—a 1959 Ford Ranch Wagon, a 1957 Chrysler Imperial LeBaron, and an Imperial Speedster. Two award-winning Steele Kustoms motorcycles will also be displayed.

In addition, PPG said it will feature an array of car hoods painted by elite automotive artists, including: Fred Scioli, Killer Kreations; Troy Lee, Troy Lee Designs; Tom and Bubba, Bubba’s East Coast Rods & Customs; Bill Steele, Steele Kustoms; Ryan Korek, Korek Designs; Pete Santini, Auto Art Studios; Tom Kelly and Mitch Kelly, and Charley Hutton.

PPG will also present its new Deltron DC2000 Ultra Velocity Clear with superfast air-dry capability along with other powder coating and Transitions lens technologies.

The 2011 SEMA Show is scheduled for Nov. 1-4 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
