LKQ to plant trees based on website visits

May 4, 2011

May 4, 2011 — LKQ Corp. is offering to plant a tree on behalf of anyone who registers at LKQGetGreen.com with a valid e-mail address through May 28.

LKQ partnered with the Arbor Day Foundation for the promotion, meant to recognize “Earth Day and beyond.” The company ran the event last year as well, planting more than 10,050 trees in Michigan’s Marquette State Forest as a result.

“We are really excited to be working with the Arbor Day Foundation again to address environmental concerns in our local communities,” said Laurie Garcia, vice president of growth initiatives and marketing for LKQ. “Recycling is a green business and this promotion will allow us to directly benefit the environment, to increase the positives as we continue to reduce the negatives through recycling.”

Hundreds of prizes, including iPads, cameras and gift cards will be given away to registrants.

LKQ is the largest nationwide provider of aftermarket, recycled and refurbished collision replacement parts. For more information, go to LKQCorp.com.
