Jan. 21, 2010--CARSTAR will open a modern automotive collision classroom at Ranken Technical College in St. Louis on Jan. 28.
The classroom will feature the latest technology for training automotive technicians, including smartboards. It was created as part of a five-year partnership between the Metro St. Louis CARSTAR business group and Ranken Technical College. The classroom was funded by a $35,000 donation from the St. Louis CARSTAR Group.
“The diagnosis and repair of today’s vehicles is a sophisticated process, and requires advanced training,” said John Wood, Ranken’s vice president. “This classroom will allow us to present that training to our students.”
“Ranken has the best auto body repair program in the area,” said Kerry Woodson II, chairman of the Metro St. Louis CARSTAR group. “We look forward to bringing more Ranken interns, apprentices and graduates into the CARSTAR family.”
The formal ribbon cutting ceremony will take place on Ranken’s campus Jan. 28 at 10:30 a.m.
