CCC launches Android mobile app

Oct. 6, 2011

Orlando, Fla., Oct. 6, 2011—CCC Information Services Inc. on Thursday announced it expanded its CCC ONE Mobile offering to include an application for Android mobile technology.

The CCC ONE Mobile app allows users of the CCC ONE Repair Workflow management system to manage production and repair orders remotely, according to CCC. It allows users to take photos of vehicles and immediately upload them to carriers and a VIN scanning tool. The CCC ONE VIN Scan product captures vehicle and vehicle-owner information, and automatically uploads that information into the CCC ONE platform.

"The CCC ONE Vin Scan solution has cut my estimate-writing time in half," said Vern David, manager of Central Body Inc. in Bakersfield, Calif. "I walk out to the car, take a picture of the VIN with my Smartphone and upload the owner contact information, vehicle information and photos right into CCC ONE. I no longer have to write everything down on a notepad and then hope I rekey everything into the estimate correctly. Everything I need is already there and I can get to work writing the estimate."

The CCC ONE Mobile app was first launched for the iPhone and iPod Touch early in 2011, according to CCC. It has been downloaded by more than 3,700 users.

"Repair managers have always wanted to spend more time on the shop floor, but have been tied to their desks," said Jim Dickens, senior vice president of CCC's Automotive Services Group. "By using mobile solutions to address and process everyday tasks, repair managers can get closer to work being done on the floor while keeping production moving.”
