East Valley Institute of Technology Opens Collision Training Centers

Feb. 22, 2013—The East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT) opened two new collision repair training centers on its Mesa, Ariz., campus.

With the help of industry partners Chief Automotive Technologies and Kachina Automotive Equipment, EVIT opened one center dedicated to high school students and another for industry professional and manufacturers who invested resources to train collision repair technicians.

“As car manufacturers continue to develop increasingly sophisticated ways to protect the passenger compartment, the techniques we use to repair vehicles is constantly evolving in response,” said Mike Cranfill, vice president of Chief. “In order to properly return today’s collision-damaged vehicles to OEM specs, it is crucial that technicians stay current on the latest developments in collision theory and repair.”

Both facilities include classroom space and are fully equipped with Chief equipment for hands-on demonstrations and practice.

The new facility will also be used for the Chief University training program, which combines classroom training with hands-on demonstrations and practice. Chief release_notesd its 2013 schedule of training courses this week.
