Feb. 6, 2012—BodyShopBids, an online platform that allows consumers to solicit custom car repair estimates, recently announced the company’s expansion to serve the Pacific Northwest region of the United States.
BodyShopBids, which launched in June 2011 in Chicago, said its network now includes the following cities: Seattle; Portland, Ore.; and Spokane, Wash.
The company said these cities represent the beginning of its expansion efforts into major metro areas throughout the United States and Canada.
“With BodyShopBids, consumers have a painless way to find a reputable body shop and save money on repairs. Despite its large population, 84 percent of Seattle households have one or more vehicles, making it a prime target market for us,” said Brad Weisberg, founder and CEO of BodyShopBids. “BodyShopBids gives shop owners a unique avenue to bring in new business. We look forward to replicating this model in Seattle, Portland, Spokane and eventually into Canada.”
BodyShopBids connects consumers who need auto body repairs with body shops through an online bidding system. Consumers upload a photo of their damaged vehicle and receive several estimates from nearby body shops within 24 hours. Consumers can then choose an estimate and book an appointment with the appropriate body shop. Consumers can access BodyShopBids for free online, and through iPhone and Android smartphone apps.
