Identifix adds OEM repair information to online offering

Nov. 28, 2011

Nov. 28, 2011—Identifix Inc., a provider of vehicle diagnostic information, on Monday announced the company added OEM service and repair information to its subscription-based online tool, Direct-Hit.

Direct-Hit's new information offering, called OEM Direct, allows repairers to diagnose and repair vehicles with increased speed and accuracy, according to Identifix. The company said OEM Direct provides genuine, unedited information for the three largest U.S. domestic automakers and the three largest foreign automakers—which include Ford, General Motors, Chrysler, Honda, Toyota and Nissan.

Identifix said OEM Direct represents 21 vehicle makes with 9 million service manual pages. Volkswagen and Audi repair data will be added to OEM Direct in the near future, according to Identifix.

"There has always been a strong business need among aftermarket shops to have access to the same information as dealership technicians,” said Jeff Sweet, president of Identifix. "Identifix has answered this need with the addition of OEM Direct. We're taking our commitment to repair shops one giant step forward, enabling them to increase productivity with a single online tool."

"This enhancement isn't just about adding more information to Direct-Hit,” Sweet said. "It's how we have integrated OEM service and repair information and retooled the way that technicians access information to get the job done for one affordable monthly investment. Whether they link to OEM repair procedures directly from our short-cut diagnostics or use our intuitive 'supercharged' keyword search, Direct-Hit helps techs outsmart even the most complex problem vehicles."

Roseville, Minn.-based Identifix is a wholly owned subsidiary of Service Repair Solutions Inc., an online resource for vehicle diagnostics, factory scheduled maintenance plans and OEM service and repair information. Identifix’s Direct-Hit has nearly 100,000 users in the U.S and Canada.
