Mitchell integrates with LKQ’s parts platform

Oct. 2, 2012

Oct. 2, 2012—Mitchell International on Tuesday announced new technology integration with LKQ Corp. that allows collision repair shops to use LKQ’s parts procurement platform within Mitchell’s RepairCenter ToolStore.

Mitchell said its RepairCenter ToolStore is a tool that connects body shops with trading partners and third-party add-on tools to streamline workflow. It includes solutions for shop operations such as paint, rental, parts, analytics, accessories, compliance, digital marketing and customer satisfaction.

LKQ's electronic ordering system for aftermarket and recycled parts, called LKQ InTouch, is now integrated into RepairCenter ToolStore, Mitchell said. The integration allows RepairCenter ToolStore to automatically capture information for real-time access to LKQ's parts inventory, which allows shops to more efficiently lookup and order parts.

Mitchell said the integration with LKQ also allows for two-way communication. RepairCenter ToolStore receives data back from LKQ InTouch to eliminate manual steps required for updating parts costing and estimate information within RepairCenter.

“Parts lookup and ordering that previously involved multiple, time-consuming and often error-prone steps are now simplified into an intuitive workflow that allows shops to conduct their parts procurement activities within the RepairCenter Workspace,” Mitchell said.

Mitchell said all users of RepairCenter ToolStore now have access to the integrated functions at no additional cost.

"Enabling LKQ's integration with RepairCenter through the ToolStore is another example of how Mitchell is connecting the collision repair industry and underscores our commitment to bring technology-driven innovations to the marketplace," said Peter Lovasz, senior director of Mitchell Repair Solutions. “We are delighted to have LKQ participate in the ToolStore to give auto repair facilities a much more efficient parts procurement workflow and real-time access to LKQ's vast inventory of quality aftermarket and salvage parts."
