Sept. 20, 2011—I-CAR on Monday announced it will offer eight collision repair training opportunities during the 2011 SEMA Show.
The training programs offered at the show will provide attendees with updates on current vehicle design, new vehicle manufacturer recommendations, and how-to information on efficiently repairing vehicles, according to I-CAR.

“The SEMA audience knows first-hand that vehicle technology is continually changing and staying informed on industry trends impacts everyone in the industry, including repairers, manufacturers, suppliers and many others,” said John Van Alstyne, president and CEO of I-CAR.
I-CAR will also offer free informational sessions to all SEMA attendees to give a preview of the types of training that I-CAR provides. Sessions will be held at the SEMA Collision Repair & Refinish Stage throughout the week. The informational sessions include: aluminum intensive vehicle structures, automotive aluminum MIG welding equipment and techniques, advanced high-strength steel structures design and repair, and advanced lightweight vehicle technology and repair.
“Reaching the audience at the SEMA Show will allow I-CAR to communicate an important industry message,” Van Alstyne said. “Collision repair training has a powerful impact on many areas of the automotive and collision repair industries, and aside from the important goal of ensuring vehicles are properly repaired, the benefits of relevant, up-to-date training can improve both individual and business performance.”
