July 16, 2013—Mitchell announced Tuesday the opening of its new Technical Research Center (TRC), located in San Diego.
TRC will be a multipurpose facility that includes 3D scanning technology from FARO, which Mitchell says will provide customers with the broadest set of dynamic data rather than only static vehicle dimension data.
Mitchell, a provider of technology, connectivity and information solutions to the property and casualty claims and collision repair industries, collects automotive frame measurements and chassis diagram data. It uses that data to give its customers in-depth responses to their queries.
“Today’s vehicles incorporate the newest technologies and require highly accurate information in order to repair them back to pre-accident condition,” said John Bachman, manager of auto physical damage at Mitchell.
“We’re the only company in the industry to leverage this next-gen technology,” said Bachman.
