NACE/CARS chairmen appointed

Feb. 14, 2011

Feb. 14, 2011 — Shop owner Ron Nagy will serve as chairman for NACE this year, event organizers announced Monday. He will replace Jerry Burns, who ended a two-year term. Mitch Schneider will chair CARS for a second consecutive year.

The chairmen will represent their segment of the industry at their respective shows.

Nagy, owner of Nagy’s Collision Center’s six locations in northeast Ohio, has worked in the collision repair industry since 1982. He has achieved I-CAR Platinum status, is certified as a master ASE collision technician and holds the Accredited Automotive Manager designation from the Automotive Management Institute. Nagy has also served in a variety of leadership roles within the Automotive Service Association (ASA), which sponsors NACE and CARS.

Mitch Schneider has run Schneider’s Automotive in Simi Valley, Calif., for three decades and is highly regarded in the area. He is also an award-winning automotive journalist, an author and a frequent speaker at major automotive conventions and meetings. He runs Mitch Schneider’s Future-Tech—a service company specializing in management education for automotive service dealers, jobbers, warehouse distribution companies and manufacturers — and he served as the first director of the Car Care Professionals Network.

NACE and CARS are part of Automotive Service & Repair Week (ASRW), scheduled Oct. 6-8 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla. An education conference will be held Oct. 5. For more information on the events, go to ASRWevents.com or contact Hanley Wood Exhibitions at 888-529-1641.
