A surprise fire at a body shop drew two stations of firefighters to battle the blaze

Oct. 31, 2019—In Phoenix, Ariz., Fox 10 Phoenix news reported that a fire erupted at an auto shop near Bethany Home Road in West Phoenix after 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 29. Over 60 firefighters were drawn from nearby stations in Phoenix and Glendale. 

911 callers reported heavy smoke and firefighters reported that the building was fully engulfed when they arrived at the scene. Firefighters attacked from above using an elevated ladder, and the crews were able to extinguish the fire in a fairly rapid time.

The firefighting team reported that fires of this nature are quite unpredictable as fires of this size defy easy assumptions about their cause. As of Thursday, crews were unable to say what started the fire.
