Former AASP/NJ president launches monthly car show

April 30, 2012

April 30, 2012—Tom Elder, former president of the Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of New Jersey (AASP/NJ), has created a monthly “Cars and Coffee” event for New Jersey auto enthusiasts.

Elder said the event is designed to be an informal gathering for people with interesting vehicles to share their hobbies with one another. All automotive hobbyists with an antique, special interest, exotic, hot rod, custom, retro rod or any other unique vehicle are able to participate.

“The concept of ‘Cars and Coffee’ started on the west coast,” Elder said. “It’s a Sunday morning car show designed with the busy family life in mind. The thought behind it is to find a time to enjoy the car hobby without taking a whole day or weekend. I invite you to have some coffee and laughs while checking out some really cool cars!”

The first “Cars and Coffee” event was held April 29. The event will be held on a monthly basis from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. throughout the rest of 2012. The next event is scheduled for May 27 at Knob Hill Country Lanes in Manalapan, N.J.

“We think it will be something a lot of people will be interested in, and we invite all car enthusiasts as well as spectators to stop by,” Elder said.
