CCAR recognizes 16 green shops

March 16, 2011 — Sixteen collision repair facilities throughout the U.S. received the Coordinating Committee for Automotive Repair’s (CCAR) GreenLink Shop recognition this month, the organization said Wednesday.

The status is an extension of the CCAR-GreenLink Environmental Compliance Assistance Center and S/P2 Safety and Pollution Prevention E-Learning program. It is meant to promote consumer confidence in local repair facilities’ eco-awareness and stewardship. To be certified, shops have to maintain high standards of excellence in environmental, health and safety practices in business operations, training, safety and compliance and environmental management.
