Aug. 7, 2019—A group of Arizona college students worked this summer to make autonomous vehicles safer, according to a report by KVOA.
The students converged on the University of Arizona for the Research Experience for Undergraduates program, which is funded by the National Science Foundation.
The students performed tests on Tuesday to make sure the vehicle stopped for pedestrians and other cars. They investigated vehicle-to-vehicle communications, vehicle-to-infrastructure communications and how to use those technologies to make the cars safer.
