March 29, 2019—A software company is building an automotive center in the area of Denton County in Texas, according to Dallas News.
Solera Holdings, a Westlake, Texas-based automotive software company, is spending nearly $9 million to build, equip and staff the center in its first year.
The 13,000-square-foot research and training facility, expected to open in July, will reflect an industry-wide shift as auto technicians fix cars packed with sensors and software and troubleshoot tech. It will train new workers and retrain veterans to keep pace with change. And it will research materials and parts used in cars and trucks and how they operate over time.
The center is called CESVI LIV, a Spanish acronym that translates to Center for Experimentation and Road Safety, Life in Vehicle. It is part of Solera Technical Center, a joint venture between Solera and one of its largest clients, Spanish auto insurance company MAPFRE.
