More than 200 Attend AkzoNobel Summer Conference

Oct. 23, 2013—The 20th annual AkzoNobel Sikkens Acoat Selected Summer Conference drew more than 200 members of the collision repair industry to the Benson Hotel in Portland, Oregon on Sept. 25–27, where AkzoNobel delivered a number of training sessions and gave out its annual awards.

The event included breakout sessions, individual consulting and performance group experience. Special guest speakers and industry experts at the event included:

  • Michael Giarrizzo, president of DCR Systems
  • George Avery, State Farm Insurance
  • Cory King, partner at Fine, Boggs & Perkins LLP
  • Steve Schoolcraft, Phoenix Solutions Group
  • Frank Terlep, Summit Software

More than 20 awards were presented to businesses demonstrating outstanding performance during 2013. Top honors were as follows:

  • Action Award: Mike Grant of Collex Collision Experts in Shewsbury, N.J.
  • Pride Award: Lee and Leila Bates of Bates Collision Center in Baytown and Channelview, Texas
  • Business of the Year: Don Cox of Elmer’s Autobody in West Collingswood, N.J.
