US Safety Regulators Investigate Parts Failures

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is investigating complaints that a suspension part on Nissan Altimas can come loose from the frame due to corrosion.

Dec. 6, 2018—U.S. safety regulators are investigating complaints about parts failures in 2013 Nissan Altimas, reported The Detroit Free Press.

The probe by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration covers about 374,000 cars from 2013. NHTSA is investigating complaints that a suspension part on the cars can come loose from the frame due to corrosion.

The agency said it has four complaints that rear lower control arm assemblies failed and the complaints came from states that use salt to clear roads of ice and snow.
