May 1, 2012—BodyShopBids, a Web-based platform that allows consumers to solicit repair estimates from local body shops, has been named as a “Cool Vendor 2012” by technology research firm Gartner for creating new business opportunities and an innovative consumer experience through technology.
Gartner recognized BodyShopBids as one of four companies that demonstrate “how the automotive value chain is expanding to new technology areas that are centered on connecting the automobile with mobile consumer devices and the Web.” Specifically, BodyShopBids said it was added to Gartner’s “Cool Vendor 2012” list for simplifying the car repair experience with the use of smartphone cameras and an online bidding process.
BodyShopBids said Gartner’s list of “Cool Vendors” in 2011 included companies across various industries such as Twilio, Pinterest and Flipboard.
“We are honored to be recognized by one of the top technology research firms in the world with a long track record of identifying new, innovative companies that have gone on to become industry leaders in their respective sectors,” said Brad Weisberg, founder and CEO of BodyShopBids. “This further validates our mission to bring convenience and transparency to the car repair process using technology.”
