Toyota Launches Car-Sharing Service in Honolulu

Toyota launched a Honolulu car-sharing service Tuesday that allows customers to use smartphones to unlock and start cars for rent by the hour or day.

July 11, 2018—Toyota launched a Honolulu car-sharing service Tuesday, reported Bloomberg.

The service allows customers to use smartphones to unlock and start cars for rent by the hour or day, according to the report. The service is called Hui, pronounced "hooey". 

Hui uses a Toyota platform that tracks and analyzes who uses car-sharing and when. 

Honolulu is situated between ocean and mountains, in the midst of  building boom, reported Reuters.
