General Motors Corp. has approved the HPC21 clearcoat manufactured by Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes Corp. for use on vehicles repaired at its dealerships.
The 2.1 VOC HPC21 clearcoat, part of the SWAFC HP Process, includes air-dry technology designed for a range of speed applications, from single- to multi-panel repairs.
HPC21 has a fast cycle time and does not require a high temperature bake cycle, which allows for energy savings, according to Gordon Gibson, senior chemist with General Motors.
