Audi, Volkswagen added to Audatex’s AudaVIN product

Oct. 5, 2011—Audatex North America Inc. on Wednesday announced Volkswagen and Audi vehicle makes are now available within its AudaVIN vehicle identification product.

AudaVIN uses vehicle identification number (VIN) data to give insurance claim representatives, appraisers and collision repair estimators complete vehicle-specific information recorded by manufacturers on the production line, according to Audatex.

"Our goal is to develop innovations that are profitable for our customers, and AudaVIN is making a tangible difference to our customers. By dramatically reducing the number of incorrectly-identified parts and options, AudaVIN can help save as much as several hundred dollars for each total loss claim," said Patrick Schmidlin, vice president of product management for Audatex. "We're very pleased to add additional vehicle makes to further extend coverage for our customers."

AudaVIN currently supports Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Mini, Smart, Sprinter, Volkswagen and Audi. Additional OEM partnerships will be release_notesd in 2012, according to Audatex.
