SkillsUSA Might Add Collision Damage Estimating

Chris Evans, chairman of the SkillsUSA Collision Appraisal and Total Loss Evaluation Committee, announced that Skills USA would add the event if 10 states held regional events for three years straight.

April 17, 2018—SkillsUSA could add a third collision repair-related competition for SkillsUSA Nationals.

Collision Appraisal could be added to the competition, according to a State Farm claims consultant with a role in the pilot.

Chris Evans, chairman of the SkillsUSA Collision Appraisal and Total Loss Evaluation Committee, announced Wednesday at the Collision Industry Conference, that SkillsUSA would add the event if 10 states held regional events for three years straight.

SkillsUSA already features Collision Repair Technology and Automotive Refinishing Technology events. 

Also new to the competition, the Louisville, Kentucky SkillsUSA competition will include a session on plastic repairs.

The competition includes contestants to perform a handwritten estimate, virtual estimate, total loss vehicle inspection report and vehicle evaluation.
