March 15, 2012—Painters Supply & Equipment Co., a distributor of automotive paint and equipment products, this week promoted Guy Bargnes to senior vice president of sales and marketing.
In the new position, which took effect March 12, Bargnes will be responsible for leading the development of Painters Supply & Equipment’s specialty coatings group. He will also represent the company within industry trade organizations, including the Automotive Aftermarket Industries Association (AAIA), the National Auto Body Council (NABC) and the Collision Industry Conference (CIC).
“Guy has been instrumental in driving sales and market share growth of our automotive refinish business,” said Patrick Mayette, president of Painters Supply & Equipment. “He has also lead PSE’s learning center initiative to deliver the best value-added programs to our customers.”
Bargnes has served Painters Supply & Equipment since June 2010, most recently as vice president of sales and marketing. Prior to joining the company, Bargnes held senior level sales and marketing positions at BASF Corp. and operated a four-store jobber business based in Buffalo, N.Y., according to Painters Supply & Equipment.
Taylor, Mich.-based Painters Supply and Equipment said it is one of the largest single-line PPG distributors in the U.S. The company operates 20 stores throughout Michigan and Ohio, and a 40,000-square-foot distribution and learning center at its corporate headquarters. Maybe they will hire some sales people who actually go out and do their job. Instead of babysitting a few large accounts. Not a lot of support for the smaller shops in some areas. I hope you read this Guy. You got to support your customers.
